BID Achievements
The Albion BID 2 management team is very proud of what has been achieved since it started, particularly in the current economic climate which has unfortunately seen a small number of businesses either ceasing trading or leaving the area. This reduced the income for the BID resulting in a small number of projects either being delayed or set aside to ensure that the primary security project continued.
However what we did achieve is amazing!
Our main objective during the previous 4 years was to improve security for all businesses working within the boundary of the BID.
We raised £281,000 in Government and Local Authority grants towards the capital purchase of 13 CCTV cameras erected around the BID area to prevent and reduce crime against many of our businesses. We have also attracted in-kind contributions and resources to a value of a further £600,000 - only made possible by having the BID in place.
We have reduced crime by 50% and 81.8% of businesses stated that this has been the main benefit of the BID so far
The BID funded 24 hour recording and out of hours, weekend and bank holiday monitoring and patrols to give you peace of mind when you are not there. We regularly assist the police in crime detection and prosecution and the police visit businesses to offer support and advice if required and regularly attend meetings on crime reduction issues.
We have spent approximately £250,000 over the past 3 years on monitoring and patrols
We said we would improve public space and have carried out a number of clean up campaigns and visual improvements to the area. In a recent survey 54.5% of businesses stated that this has been of benefit to them.
Approximately £340,000 has been invested by our partners in the area . doing this
We have also produced a Business Directory and regular updates, facilitated business grants for new and small businesses and recently carried out a health screening event which saw 96 local employees seek medical advice with two thirds referred for further treatment, assisting you to reduce future sickness levels in your businesses. Remember a healthy workforce is a productive workforce!
Approximately £290,000 has been invested in supporting local businesses in the BID area.
